Hadhrat Maaaz bin Jabal (radhiallahu anhu) is from amongst the famous companions of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and he (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was very fond of Hadhrat Maaaz
(radhiallahu anhu). There are numerous Ahaadith Shareef narrated by Hadhrat Ma`aaz (radhiallahu anhu),
which can be found in the books of Hadith. He was an Ansaari, from the tribe of Khasraj.
Hadhrat Maaaz (radhiallahu anhu) was a great Aalim. Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said regarding Hadhrat Maaaz (radhiallahu anhu) that he is the most learned amongst the Ummat regarding Halaal and
Haraam. He also said that Hadhrat Maaaz (radhiallahu anhu) will be in the fore-front of the Ulama on the day of Qiyaamah. Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) also said that learn the Quraan Shareef from four
persons; Abdullah bin Masood, Saalim moula Abu Huzaifa, Ubai bin Kaab and Maaaz bin Jabal. Hadhrat Anas (radhiallahu anhu) reports that during the era of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)four persons had memorised the Quraan Shareef; Ubai bin Kaab, Muaaz bin Jabal, Zaid bin Thaabit and Abu Zaid (the
uncle of Hadhrat Anas (radhiallahu anhu).
