Sayyida Khadijah was a respected, wealthy, noble woman of Makkah who belonged to the Quraysh tribe of Arabia. She was known by the nickname “Tahira” due to her good looks and character. He involved Hazrat Muhammad ﷺ in commercial business and many times sent his goods abroad. She was so impressed by his business wisdom, honesty, sincerity, hard work and high morals that he sent a message of marriage to him. Which the Prophet ﷺ accepted with the advice of his elders.
At that time, he was forty years old while the Prophet was only twenty-five years old. Sayyida Khadija was the first to accept Islam and had the privilege of being the first Umm al-Mu’minin. All the children of the Prophet ﷺ were born from Sayyid Khadijah and only Ibrahim who was from Maria Copticia, who was presented to the Prophet ﷺ as a gift by the king of Alexandria and the chief of the Copts.
