Born into the noble tribe of Banu Kalb, Hadrat Zayd ibn Harithah ؓ was separated from his family as a child and sold into slavery. His life changed forever when he entered the household of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who freed him and treated him with unmatched love and kindness. When given the opportunity to return to his family, Zayd ؓ chose to remain with the Prophet ﷺ, declaring that no one was dearer to him than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. His devotion earned him a place unlike any other among the Companions, and he became one of the closest members of the Prophet’s household.
